ongoing outage southern Idaho
My network went out late last night and hasn't been resolved yet. After a long call with a man who walked me through all possible fixes, he consulted with someone who said there's an ongoing outage un my area and techs are working round the clock til it is resolved. I have tried to port my phone number FROM HughesNet TO Windstream/Kinetic now that I have access to high speed fiber but it appears that Windstream in unable to bring the number to their service. Can someone give me a better explanation than what I've received from the ISPs and if there is any kind of work around. Windstream is telling me that since my Hughsnet phone number is in a different "region" that they cannot get it from Hughsnet, I have absolutely NO option for porting over. Ive had this # for 30+ years and really want to retain it. Is it possible to use a 3rd party phone service to bring the number back into my local "region" and then port to Windstream?
