Agree they have mislead us, when I signed up for the Promo for the "49.00" a month for 2 years (yes 2 years I have a copy of the email) there was NO MENTION of a fee for the equipment OR and extra charge for a paper bill, My first month is 61.39 and supposedly Im locked into this for at least a year?? phone calls to customer support are of no help... Im warning ALL who are thinking of using them of the false information they are sending out

See what the HughesNet moderator told the previous poster: if your system works with dynamic IP, then it will work with HughesNet. Does your system not work with dynamic IP? You may need to consult the manual. @maratsade This stuff is very light and fluffy, so there's no worry of power loss or anything like that. The wind, for the most part, has kept my two satellite dishes clean, though with this kind of snow, and with as cold as it is, a little tap on the edge makes any snow that does build up slide right off. Thankfully, I can open the bedroom window and reach out with a pole to tap the HN dish instead of having to trudge through the snow to the back of the house, and my DTV dish takes quite a bit of buildup to affect it's signal.

I stand corrected. I have tried a couple of 2001:5b0 addresses with no luck - might be just that I'm using the modem's address and not the actual end device... something new to play with.

You can check your bill by going to My Account (at the top of this community's pages), and then clicking on My Bill, From there you can see invoices and see what the breakdown is. You may want to try that and see if it answers your question.

Last night I tried to update the Mac with an OS update which was around 3.3 GB. The Mac estimated the update would take 5 days (LOL), so I checked speeds and it was around 700 kbps (edit: that's almost 13 times faster than dialup, by the way). This morning (around 8 am) the update went just fine, took about 10 minutes. I also updated apps for a total of about 5 gigs, and they updated in 15 minutes. Amazing. Must've hit just the right time.

@john777 The 737 Max has been grounded since March 13th, 2019, which was three days after the second accident. It'll no doubt be a while before they're back in the air. They said not until April 7th, 2020 at the earliest, but I don't think it will surprise anyone if that's pushed further out.

@lisamarais As maratsade suggested, we may be able to help you figure out what is using your data so quickly, and how to use less of it, including by device. If you would like that help, please start a new topic in Tech Support, which you can do here. If/when you do so, it would help to know what devices you use with HughesNet. You can see currently and formerly connected devices here. The formerly connected devices are only since the last time the HughesNet modem was plugged in or rebooted, as unplugging or rebooting the modem wipes the device connection logs.

It probably takes 1-3 business days, if you're making the payment with a bank account number. Those transactions are not instantaneous, and banks typically process those overnight (but only on business days).

If you're out of data, then streaming is pretty much a no. When you have data, streaming works no matter what plan you're on. BUT, it is highly dependent on congestion -- this means if a lot of people are using the system in your area, streaming is harder, and sometimes impossible.

Everything I've been reading (Edit: online, from people using NP) about your issue seems to indicate it's related to IPv6.
