Hello all, so last month I couldn't get wifi to work, thought oops forgot to pay the bill. Well I didn't. It said I had went over on GB and could buy a token. I had 4 days so nah. Got busy with life and it never worked the payment for this month was paid but till today I couldn't get WiFi couldn't get into my account nothing. I hate this company. It is the only option where I live and it is too expensive and the connection is **bleep**. I pay WAY TOO MUCH money for such a crappy service. The speed of internet is slow so I called customer service to increase speed. The new price is much higher than Xfinity. Then I asked when will my contract expire. I was told after 1 year. So I went back to Xfinity. Now they are telling me about a $220 charge for breaking contract. Hughnet is penalizing me for their customer mistake? I don't recommend Hughesnet. Service is overpriced and unreliable, customer service reps are not knowledgeable, and hard to understand as most of them do not speak English as their first language. I made my first monthly bill yesterday & I am truly upset, I am on SSI & don't even make a $1000 month when I signed up for Hughes net I thought it was going to be a great thing I only received Internet & WiFi. I explained to her I was on SSI & I could not pay a large bill & she was very supportive said she would do all she could do & my sign up fee wasn't even $15 she said I had free installation fee $100 gift card, the gift card I tried to receive it you have to have 2 bills when the guy came to install for me he gave me no bill so I have not been able to get that & the no installation fee that was a bold face lie because my first bill is supposed to be $64.98 for 12 months then it will go up to 89.98 but yesterday i look at the bank & they took out $163 from my account I called & he said it's for the equipment no one told me I had to pay for equipment but that's how they feel you in because most people consider NO installation fee. Plus the service is not high speed at all & I ran out of my gigabytes. I hope no one falls for what I did she lied to me or was not honest about everything just to make a sale. Had Hughesnet installed this morning. Big mistake. Support was terrible. I spent 3 hours on my cell phone with them as now my Hughes home phone will not work. Internet speed is: Download 2.13 Upload 1.08 . The agents had no idea how to fix, they kept putting me on hold so they could ask supperiors how to fix. Refused to send me to level 2 support so they could assist. So sorry I switched. They told me someone would be out in 2-3 days.Agent told me installer put modem in basement by computer and that was wrong? Also have extender but to them that didn't matter. Worst company I have ever dealt with for Internet. Woman lied and said 100gb a month would support 3 tvs and 3 phones. I'm paying around 200 a month for extra tokens.
