FINALLY!!  Yes, Corrosive's solution worked for me; I haven't had the meter for MONTHS now and contacting HughesNet several time was useless.  They couldn't figue it out, but I did was Corrosive said to do and I finally have the meter back, many thanks. ... View more

How about when a when you pay for 15 gallons of gas and you get 15 gallons of gas, but something on your vehicle is "drinking" your gas so it's "draining" down quickly, and when you want to actively use it you have four gallons left.  Is that the gas station's fault?     One or more of your devices is chewing through your data, and until you figure out what is doing so you'll continue to have the same problem.  If you'd like help with doing so, please start a new topic in the Tech Support section, which you can do here... https://community.hughesnet.com/t5/forums/postpage/board-id/TechSupport ... I prefer "Opera" since it is reported to be the fastest web browser.  It also supports all of Chrome extensions.  The plus side of it is that it has it's own vpn built in and you can use it any time for added security. ... View more

Hi Rantsn,   The amount of promotions and credits given at the time of the sale meant that you only paid about $20 out of pocket. The full amount for the month was applied to the bill you mentioned, so this offset the difference, meaning you did not pay for the same month twice (again this is why the bill was not $180). Amanda, people work. Also because of lack of follow through from companies and customers it is always best to have all things in writing as back up. Many people have issues that cannot be fixed and should not be held to early termination fees. So we have emailed and will call. But you must acknowledge and respond to emails at all times. @happytexann   The following is ONLY concerning the data drain, as the other thread has the FAP and token issues laid out, and as bare65 mentioned, we should concentrate those issues on the thread that's already been created for them.     Okay, your setup.  It sounds like you have an HT2000W modem, but you are using a 3rd party router for WiFi, with your LAN connected desktop connected to a port on the HT2000W or the 3rd party router.  Everything else is WiFi, and those WiFi devices utilize the 3rd party router's WiFi for their connection.     First, being that you're not using the HT2000W's WiFi, it should be disabled so as to not interfere with the 3rd party router's WiFi signal.     Now, knowing that the iCloud chewed through 3GB in one day, that being the 20th, are you sure that this was not at least a partial source of your data drain during January and February?  If it used 3GB in one day, it wouldn't be long before your entire monthly data allotment was exhausted if that was going on every day.     If you are sure that your data drain wasn't through the desktop, then we know it's something through WiFi.  The best thing you can do is to change the WiFi password in the router, then slowly add the WiFi devices back in, using the new password, until you figure out which one it is that's draining the data.  It's basically a process of elimination, or inclusion, in this case.   ... I can idendity what you are going through.   Below is a recommendation I provided to another Hughesnet user having similar problems:   "I have found the best way to get positive and informed attention/action is through this forum. You may have already done this, but if not, I suggest that you open a new message string specific to your situation. I know it will be a pain, but give plenty detail (e.g., what system you are using, modem, data plan, computer type, wired or hard wired connection, speed test results, how long you have been trapped with poor performance, AND any Case Numbers you have). Fortunatly, GabeU an Associate Professor on this forum seems to monitor what is going on and he should see your post. He is very thoughtful and has provided me with valuable advice. He is also able to ping forum moderators and get their attention. Hughesnet people like Amanda and Liz also monitor this forum, they are sharp and have always been helpful with my technical issues."   Good luck. ... View more
