Yes, normally you can purchase tokens on the app, but for whatever reason, it wasn't letting me at the time.  There was an app update available, which I downloaded, right before I opened the app, so I wonder if that contributed to my issue. The double-NAT is part of how satellite internet routing works at both the satellite and the ground stations. Nothing can be done about that, but it will mean that you will not be able to use some camera services that require a reachable user-IP instead of a server-in-the-middle. It seems that the bill date update was successful. Agents are able to manually request a change of billing date, upon customer request. This is a very frustrating problem, and your agitation is understandable.    Hughesnet sells you data; it doesn't use your data. Something on your side is using data, and it's up to you to figure it out; this isn't something the ISP can do. What things do you have connected to your wifi? Do you have smart appliances? Do you have a TV connected to the internet?   Next time when you leave the house, unplug the modem. There will be zero data usage while the modem is unplugged. You can unplug it when you go to sleep too.  No electricity to the modem = no data usage.  One thing to keep in mind with this is that when you check the data again, you may see data usage: that will be the number from when you turned off the modem, not new data usage.    You can install the free Glasswire software on any Windows or Android devices that you have to see what's using data. But if the data is being used by smart devices (TVs or other), you won't see that on Glasswire, which means this is limited, but may give you some idea. It sounds more like you're experiencing issues not typical to the service.Hopefully a rep will reply soon to help.    Regarding the streaming, it's not that people can't stream during peak hours, but rather only that it can be more problematic during that time. With that said, if you just got service you're probably on Gen 6, which won't really see a whole lot of congestion for a while to come. One thing you've got to remember is that, while you can stream with it, it's not really meant for streaming in the way that ground based services are, primarily because of the amount of high speed data you get before the speed is decreased. Ground based services don't have to deal with the constraints of a finite throughput, as they can easily expand the network, while geostationary satellite internet does, hence the high speed data limits, which basically makes people prioritize their online activities. Not as much as it used to, as the new system has a higher throughput than both the Jupiter 1 and Jupiter 2 (Gen 4 & Gen 5) systems combined, but that finite throughput is still there. ... View more

The legally binding subscriber agreement, which goes into effect as soon as your service starts, states:   If you cancel after activation but before the end of your 24-month term commitment, you will be charged a Service Termination Fee of up to $400. The exact amount of the Service Termination Fee will be $400 during the first ninety (90) days after activation of the Hughesnet Service. Thereafter, the amount will decrease by $15 per month for each month of active Service.     You have tried to cancel after activation and before the end of your 24-month commitment, therefore the $400 fee would legally apply.  I suggest you avoid further surprises by reading the subscriber agreement in its entirety: https://legal.hughesnet.com/node/771   By having an account and using the service, you are bound by this agreement and its provisions. The agreement also states what you can do if you have a grievance.
